American musician and actor Awkwafina debuted with sly rap tracks that tackled sexuality and racial identities with a boldly comedic perspective before broadening her reach to Hollywood. Born Nora Lum to Chinese and Korean immigrants from Forest Hills Queens her first taste of musician life came through the trumpet.
